Pope's production gets funding green light

Good news for Vicky Pope whose production Savage, has received the go-ahead for NZFC funding. Written and directed by Sam Kelly, the film is inspired by the true stories of New Zealand's street gangs in the 60's, 70's and 80's, and portrays Danny at three different ages and defining moments that push and pull him towards and away from gang life.

Canadian screen industry aims for zero-tolerance on harassment

In the wake of the hundreds of sexual harassment and discrimination allegations against dozens of members of the wider international screen industry, 16 Canadian organisations have committed to creating an industry-wide code of conduct, reports realscreen.com, with zero-tolerance toward harassment, sexual harassment, bullying, abuse and violence. Of course, the real test will be six months from now, says the president of ACTRA National, David Sparrow. "If something were to happen, how would the industry respond?"
