We're over the moon to be offering two brand-new awards this year, in recognition of the shift for women into traditionally male-dominated areas. The Queenstown Camera Company Craft Award recognises outstanding achievement in craft in film, TV or digital media production, between 1 July 2015 and 30 June 2017, especially those working in the more traditionally male-dominated sectors such as camera, sound, lighting, grips, stunt work and set design. The WETA Group Creative Technology Award recognises outstanding achievement in creativity in post-production in film, TV or digital media from 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2017. Nominee job titles include: Editor, Colourist, Sound Editor, ADR Recordist, VFX Artist, VFX Supervisor, VFX Editor, Animator and Compositor.
Women still have a way to go in those industries though, and that's where YOU, dear members, can help. Nominate a woman who works in the above categories and you'll be doing your bit for WIFT!
