The M?oriland Hub screens T?tarakihi: the children of Parihaka this Sunday, so flag the fireworks and head to beautiful ?taki instead. Executive produced by Gaylene Preston, and directed by Paora Joseph, the film documents the journey taken by a group of Taranaki children to visit the places in which their ancestors, passive resistors from Parihaka in the 1880s, were imprisoned and forced to labour. Their emotional journey is also documented by the children themselves, in their writing, poetry, song and art, expressed in a workshop after the journey.

When: Sunday 5 November, 6:30 PM

Where: The M?oriland Hub, 68 Main St, ?taki, Kapiti Coast

Cash only, tickets available at the door.
