Pukeko Pictures latest project takes the CAKE

Posted Tuesday 03 Oct 2017

The talented team at Pukeko Pictures (which includes a number of WIFTers) will be celebrating the news that Pukeko is teaming up with leading kids' entertainment specialist CAKE, to launch Kiddets, a sister series to Pukeko's hit animated preschool show, The WotWots. The new partnership is a real coup for Pukeko: London-based CAKE is a global leader in the production, distribution, development, financing and brand development of kids' and family properties.

Kiddets is co-produced by Pukeko Pictures and Guangdong Huawen Century Animation Company and is the first official children's television co-production between New Zealand and China.

Richard Taylor, co-owner of Pukeko Pictures, said in a statement, "It's essential to find visionary partners to work with and we have forged a deep relationship with our Chinese colleagues that gives us, together with Ed Galton and his team at CAKE, an incredibly strong springboard to launch this dynamic and engaging show globally."

We have five double passes to give away to this beautiful, inspirational local film by Hugh Macdonald. Due for release in New Zealand 19 October, No Ordinary Sheila tells the life story of Sheila Natusch. Viewers will love this radiant, defiant and unconventional life story which ranges from the southern wilds to the rugged Wellington coastline, where Sheila still lived until very recently, without car, TV, lipstick or alcohol, planning to "get the last bit of fun out of life that there is."

To enter the draw, just watch the trailer and answer this simple question:  What does Sheila say she will do if anyone told her she was going to a nursing home?

Email your answer in the subject line to office@wiftnz.org.nz by 5pm Monday 9 October 2017. Only winners will be notified.
