More than half the Doc Edge feature films are directed or co-directed by women - a reflection of the outstanding female filmmakers working in the documentary form, and completely unrepresentative of wider trends in film! DWTD, which Marshall co-directed with film editing lecturer Phil Davison, is described as "a journey from the roots of American blues in the Mississippi Delta to a blues epiphany in New Zealand".
