Clear your diaries for October 26 and 27 folks - the Script To Screen Big Screen Symposium is back! The BSS brings the filmmakers of Aotearoa New Zealand together for debate, discussion, information and inspiration. The event is for all those who bring our stories to the screen: directors, writers and producers, musicians, actors and technicians,  business people, distributors and film students. It presents a big picture of the world of film and television, a great networking opportunity, and a wealth of insights and information on the pertinent issues facing filmmakers today. Directors' Toolkit workshop with Jason Stutter

Here's a great chance to develop your directing skills and add valuable new ones to your toolkit. Award-winning director Jason Stutter (Edwin: My Life as a Koont, The Dead Room) leads this two-day workshop in Tauranga, offering a practical guide to directing for emerging directors. You'll learn about working with professional actors, non-actors, and different scales of production crew. The course will also cover pre-production, casting, production, post-production and how to get your final film out into the world of festivals and markets. Applications close at  4pm on Wednesday 22 August 2018.

Cost: DEGNZ members - free, non-members - $100 (payable upon successful application)
