We're hugely excited to see this event on the calendar! Join other inspirational wahine in the arts to debate and discuss issues facing women in contemporary Aotearoa at Speak Up! an Auckland Live event on 8 September. You, dear members, may be particularly interested in the Controlled Detonation session (!), a discussion inspired by the women protesting in Cannes this year about the underrepresentation and conditions of women in the film industry. The talk will cover film, comedy, production and theatre, and feature the wonderful Nancy Brunning, Miriama McDowell and Alison Quigan on the panel. Speak Up! will feature 23 incredible women from the creative industries, and you'll hear their insights and experiences on issues like balancing family and work, about consent, and about creating opportunities for leadership. WIFT members get a 20% discount on all individual sessions and on the full day pass. Use the code INDUSTRY when booking tickets. All talks are sign language interpreted.
