Character building workshop for Christchurch screenwriters

Posted Monday 26 Feb 2018

While we wouldn't dream of casting aspersions on anybody's character, screenwriter, playwright and novelist Duncan Sarkies would! He'll lead a workshop on character objectives: how an understanding of what your character wants and the obstacles that get in their way can be used to generate ideas for your film. The day will be interactive with fun practical exercises to help you explore the power of motivated characters. Morning and afternoon tea will be provided, but bring your own lunch. Places are limited!

When: Saturday 17 March, 9.30AM - 4.30PM

NZOA funding round has Women's Suffrage theme

Posted Monday 26 Feb 2018

The 125th year of Women's Suffrage is the theme for NZOA's May funding round. Because it's the last of the financial year, it's a small round, with about $1.5 million available for this, as well as up to $1.5 million for general factual projects. We're looking forward to seeing what projects will get the go-ahead. The local suffragette movement was spearheaded by the amazing Kate Sheppard, pictured above.
