There was a bit of a heihei in Auckland's Henderson last week as broadcasters and kids descended on Woah! Studios for the launch party of HEIHEI, TVNZ's new ad-free media platform for kids. The name means "commotion" or "chicken" in te reo, and the streaming service features shows using Maori language, as well as New Zealand people and place names, and Kiwi kids, characters and accents, wherever possible. NZ On Air has funded the platform, while TVNZ, led by Amie Mills, developed and delivered it.
