2019 Maoriland Film Festival programme is out now

Posted Thursday 14 Feb 2019

The 2019 MFF programme is out now and it features a strong line up of films by women. More than half the programmed directors are female, celebrating a diversity that Hollywood is often criticised for lacking. The festival includes the southern hemisphere premiere of the celebrated film Vai, on which many Wifters worked, and The Grave Digger of Kapu directed by Libby Hakaraia.
Indigenous films from the United States, Canada, Northern Europe, Iran and more will feature over the five-day festival and with many of the filmmakers planning to travel to ?taki to present their films, festival attendees will have the unique opportunity to meet and mingle with the storytellers and hear about their experiences directly.

The M?oriland Film Festival takes place in ?taki between 20 - 24 March, 2019.
