Posted Monday 04 Feb 2019

This really is an extraordinary film so we're drawing your attention to it, and reminding you all that you do get a member's discount at Auckland's Academy Cinemas. After a successful run at the NZIFF last year, Nadine Labaki's Capharnaum is also in the running for Best Foreign Language Film at the 2019 Academy Awards. The film follows Zain, a 12 year old Lebanese boy who has had a troubled childhood and ultimately decides to sue his parents for giving him life. Capharnaum opens at the Academy on Thursday 7 February, do go and see it - but take a hanky. See the next item for your chance to win double passes to the film!
