Gear up for the Maoriland Festival

Every March, film makers and film lovers from all over the world descend on the small town of ?taki for five days of screenings workshops, art exhibitions and special events. And it will happen again - and be bigger and better - very soon. The sixth annual M?oriland Film Festival will run from March 20 - 24 2019. Over the past five years, MFF has grown to be the largest international indigenous film festival in the Southern Hemisphere welcoming over 12,500 attendees in March 2018. Watch this space!

Catalyst He Kauahi offers new funding support for Kiwi filmmakers

Here's a fantastic and inspiring funding opportunity for filmmakers. Catalyst He Kauahi is a new fund that aims to support New Zealand filmmakers to progress their talents to the next stage and make exceptional, high-end narrative short films that will ignite the flame and be the catalyst for change in their career.
�         Narrative drama and animation short films - not documentary
�         Short films must be tonally or thematically linked to feature films and/or long-form content
�         Up to $90,000 is available for development and production
�         An extra $10,000 will be available to develop the feature film/long-form project linked to the short
�         Deadline: 9am, Friday, 15 February 2019

Catalyst He Kauahi is open to filmmaking teams (writers, directors, producers) where the majority of the team are emerging or mid-career level as per the NZFC talent eligibility criteria definition.
