Get set for the Raupapa Whakaari Funding Initiative

Posted Tuesday 22 Jan 2019

Writers and producers it's time to team up! Set up by the New Zealand Film Commission and NZ On Air, the Raupapa Whakaari Funding initiative is designed to stimulate and grow opportunities for New Zealand feature film and drama producers and writers to participate in the global series drama marketplace and attract finance. Applicants must be an established producer, however, the writer is not required to have screen credits (but will need to provide a screen sample).

Applications will be opening on 18 February 2019 and closing at 9am on 18 March 2019. Guidelines will be published in early 2019.

Loading Docs submissions due on Friday!

Posted Tuesday 22 Jan 2019

Loading Docs wants your stories that speak to the theme of POWER. As a creative motivation, be it physical, internal, social, political, emotional or psychological, POWER challenges documentary makers to propose shorts that can excite audiences with the power of a documentary story well told. Ideas might speak to power imbalances, questioning authority or spotlighting energy and sustainability concerns. They could also explore leadership, mana, autonomy or sovereignty among other salient issues.
In previous years films were limited to three minutes, but this year, they'll take applications for stories between three and eight minutes long.
