We're thrilled to see director Prisca Bouchet's short film on the list of those selected as finalists for the New Zealand International Film Festival's annual New Zealand's Best Short Film Competition. Bouchet and co-director's Nick Mayow's Egg Cup Requiem was one of the six films chosen. Selector Jane Campion said of the film, "This clever film builds a powerful and unexpected emotion, the likes of which felt new to me. There is not a wrong move in this exquisitely told portrait. It's a bold, true and quietly brilliant achievement."
The New Zealand's Best programme is NZIFF's only competition section. Finalists will compete for a total of four prizes, with winners to be announced at the closing night event of the Auckland leg of NZIFF. We'll keep you posted!
