Here's another hardworking Wifter who'd appreciate your support! Alyx Duncan is directing poet and actor Jess Holly-Bates and performance artist Forest (ne Vicky) in an interdisciplinary work called Inheritance, programmed for Matariki Festival at Auckland's Basement Theatre 9-13 July. Duncan says the work aims to investigate inequality in New Zealand, and to ask where New Zealanders' wealth comes from, what we will inherit, and what will we pass on.
"My two collaborators/makers/performers have very different stories. This diversity of experience is important in the conversation. We want to excavate our embodied stories of class difference to create a performance experience that is funny, clever and political."
