We're thrilled to hear that Anna Marbrook's collaborative work Waka Odyssey was recently showcased at the Prague Quadrennial, along with work by other New Zealand artists. Thanks to funding from Creative New Zealand Marbrook and a collaborative team built the next phase of Waka Odyssey for an international audience. Produced by The New Zealand Festival in February 2018, Waka Odyssey won the Best Arts/Cultural event in New Zealand for 2018 after it attracted an audience of 20,000 on Wellington's waterfront and was simultaneously broadcast to a global audience of 200,000. With a cast of 1000 performers, Wellington harbour became a stage for one of the largest fleets of Pacific canoes. The NZPQ2019 exhibition was titled Te ahua tu watea, and was one of 600 exhibitions in the prestigiouos event which spanned 11 days, involved 79 countries and 800 artists.
