Nominate a deserving person for the 2019 SPADA Screen Industry Awards

Entries are now open for these awards to be held at the the 2019 SPADA Conference (20-21 November). The three awards recognise different aspects of the local screen production industry and are a great opportunity to nominate people who you think are doing great work! The categories are:

The New Filmmaker of the Year Award is for emerging talent with less than five years experience in the industry who has already made an impact.

The Independent Producer Award recognises a SPADA member who has done something outstanding in the past year. Whether it be a specific project, their generous contribution to the industry, or an innovative approach, don't be shy to nominate your peers and give them the acknowledgement they deserve.

The SPADA Data Book Industry Champion Award is open to nominations of individuals, organisations or companies from any level or sector of the screen industry who has made a significant contribution through their work.If you know people who we should be celebrating don't be shy, nominate them today!

Fresh from Cannes for the NZIFF

What's hot from Cannes at the NZIFF this year? A delicious selection of 25 films has been confirmed, including eight from the Competition section of the festival - amongst them are Jury Prize winners (tied) Les Mis�rables and Bacurau. NZIFF's 2019 Cannes selections also feature Portrait of a Lady on Fire, the winner of both the Queer Palm (Feature) and Best Screenplay; Elia Suleiman's It Must Be Heaven, which received a Special Mention of the Jury; and Brazilian director Karim A�nouz's glorious Un Certain Regard winner, The Invisible Life of Euridice Gusmao, pictured below.
