Asian and Pacific drama funding success for Wifters

We're thrilled to hear that Blueskin Films, Tikilounge Productions, Flat3 Productions and Screentime NZ are recipients of the NZ On Air and NZFC funding for Asian and Pacific projects to be developed for TVNZ's Sunday drama slot. There were 44 applications in total. The Pacific projects are Blueskin Films' Noue: Daughter of the Mau and Tikilounge Productions' Overstayer: The Story of the Dawn Raids; while the Asian projects are Princess of Chaos from Flat3 Productions and The Only Son from Screentime NZ.

Production assistant GFC Films

GFC Films is looking for an in-house production assistant to work in an Auckland-based production office. GFC Films is one of New Zealand's premier production companies, producing several feature films and TV series each year. The production assistant will work alongside the production team on some exciting projects with well-established New Zealand producers. Each day will be different - the role consists of on-set work as well as some office admin. The successful candidate will be available to start mid-April 2019.
Brief job description:
� Working with head of production, line producers and production coordinator in theorganisation of various film shoots.
� Looking after the needs of managing director, producers, directors and talent, eg buying coffees and lunches, chaperoning or driving, etc.
� Flexible schedule and the ability to work night shoots when required.
� General running duties, such as delivering or picking up hard drives.
� Keeping the production office tidy and running smoothly, eg. doing the, keeping track of office supplies, emptying rubbish bins and the dishwasher etc.
Though this is an entry-level role, the successful applicant will already have some experience in production running for film/TV or a strong interest in pursuing film and tv as a career. The role would not suit secondary school-leavers so some training in film and tv production is an advantage.
