Submissions open for Show Me Shorts 2019

Short filmmakers, music video makers, here's your chance to shine at a local but international event! Submit in time for the 1 April, 2019 Earlybird deadline to the Show Me Shorts Festival, set to take place in spring in more than 25 cinemas nationwide. The festival accepts short films from Aotearoa and around the globe; films must be between 2-20 minutes long and can be of any genre. There is a preference for cinematic narrative-style films with strong audience appeal, as well as films that will be making their premiere in the festival. New Zealand music videos between 1-10 minutes long are also invited to submit.

BBC investigated for suspected pay discrimination

The BBC is under investigation over suspected pay discrimination against women. The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) launched an investigation which will look at records dating back to January 2016 to assess whether the pay differences at the BBC are "because of sex, whether it is direct sex discrimination or indirect sex discrimination". The EHRC hopes to publish the results by the end of this year.
