Wifters win spots in DEGNZ Incubator

Congratulations to Marina Alofagia McCartney, Claire van Beek, Ursula Williams and Anna Duckworth, who have been selected for this year's DEGNZ Emerging Women Filmmakers Incubator. The Incubator is designed to provide participants with information, knowledge and networks to help them advance their projects and professional skills, with the aim of seeing them go on to sustainable careers as directors. This is the third year that DEGNZ has run the Incubator, made possible with the financial assistance of the New Zealand Film Commission and Vista Foundation.

Wifter wins Te Kai Ngakahi Melissa Wikaire Award

Congratulations to producer Desray Armstrong (pictured below), who won the $2000 Te Kai Ngakahi Melissa Wikaire Award at the recent annual conference, Hui-A-Tau, of the M?ori screen organisation Ng? Aho Whakaari. Desray's projects include Stray, The Watercooler, Wellington Paranormal, and Ellen is Leaving. We'd also like to congratulate Leo Koziol who won the $20,000 NZFC He Tohu Whakanui special acknowledgement award for his contribution to the industry in running the Wairoa M?ori Film Festival, curating the Ng? Whanaunga M?ori Shorts section of the NZ International Film Festival and M?ori film selections for festivals around the world.
