CinemaStreet Women�s Short Screenplay Competition now open

Screenwriters, here's a great competition to enter! CinemaStreet Pictures invites women screenwriters to submit short screenplays (20 minutes and under) for production consideration. The winning screenplay will be receive $1,000 for a two-year option to produce the script. Applicants may be from any country, but screenplays must be written in English. The final deadline is 30 June, 2019 at 11:59pm.

Have a great night out and support your fellow Wifters while you're at it! The premiere of Status Pending, directed by Ben Zolno and co-produced by Jane Fletcher is screening in Wellington after a successful run on the international film festival circuit. Status Pending is an improvised-dialogue romantic dramedy. Written and directed by Zolno who also stars, it's the story of a couple struggling to live up to the lifestyle standards and expectations social media has set for them. After six months with her Tinder guy, an indecisive millennial must decide today: either travel the world on a last-minute trip, or find "stability" and settle into a career and a relationship. This is your chance to join the cast, crew and film community for this one-off screening, presented by the WLG Festival. Just by attending, you have the chance to win a free pass valued at over $800 to the WLG Festival, which runs from 11 - 15 September 2019, in Wellington.
