DEGNZ intensive workshop with Mark Travis

This is an excellent opportunity to polish your directorial skills! The five-day Travis Technique Intensive Workshop with California-based Mark Travis is designed to fully immerse a small number of directors (max. 5) into story (autobiographical storytelling), characters (interrogation process) and staging (power of placement). By practising The Travis Technique on a story from their own life, directors will gain the confidence to apply their new skills to their own projects right away. Applications close Monday 17 June, at 9am.

New internship offers filmmakers Singapore experience

Calling all motivated documentary makers! Doc Edge, Beach House Pictures (Singapore) and the Asia New Zealand Foundation Te Wh?tau T?hono have announced a new internship which will see recipients working with one of Asia's leading production houses in Singapore. The two-month internship is being offered to documentary filmmakers with two to five years' experience, and is a unique opportunity to work on documentaries for international audiences in a supportive setting. To be eligible for the internship, applicants must register and attend the two-day Doc Edge Forum in Auckland, 31 May - 1 June. Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed during the Forum by representatives of Doc Edge, Beach House Pictures and the Asia New Zealand Foundation.

The successful applicant will receive:
1) an honorarium for the period of the internship from Beach House Pictures.
2) travel and accommodation support along with some additional living allowance from the Asia New Zealand Foundation.
