Here's a first for the New Zealand screen industry! The M?oriland Filmmakers' Residency will host national and international Indigenous artists for up to three months at the M?oriland Hub in ?taki. There will be two residencies offered in 2020, and the Head of the International Smi Film Institute (ISFI ), Anne Lajla Utsi (pictured above), will be M?oriland's first filmmaker in residence. Anne is a champion of Smi filmmaking, a sector that has grown from strength to strength through her work at the helm of the ISFI. Anne will be traveling with her wh?nau from Kautekeino in Norway to take up residence for a month from mid-November in ?taki on the Kapiti Coast.
