Directors UK has launched a new set of guidance for directing scenes featuring nudity and simulated sex - the first of their kind in the UK.

And on the brighter side, The New York Times reveals that a Directors Guild of America report has found that for the very first time, 50% of TV episodes in 2018/19 were directed by women or people of colour, a significant increase from 21% five years ago. Frustratingly though, the guild research also found that more than half of first-time directing work went to "series insiders" - people who have different jobs on a show and are given one-off directing assignments as a perk. The report said that group is usually "far less diverse" and such staffers rarely go on to directing careers.
