NZOA backs Asian comedy helmed by Wifters

Posted Monday 16 Sep 2019

It's great to hear that Wifters are among those NZ On Air is backing in its bid to support more Asian and Pasifika voices. We're looking forward to seeing the work of Mingjian Cui, Selena Joe and Liz Di Fiore in Inked, a coming-of-age comedy-drama about a recent college dropout who launches a tattoo studio while struggling to reconcile with her Chinese immigrant father. It's the first NZ On Air funded project predominantly in Mandarin with English subtitles. Made for Prime it will simultaneously play on New Zealand's largest online Chinese media platform for a Chinese youth audience.
