If you'd never heard of Zoom before March 23 it's likely you'll be very very familiar with the online meeting app by now! Our friends at SAE shared a fun pic (above) of a class meeting showing that despite lockdown the school's creative community is far from silent!

The institute has shifted all operations to an online delivery model and classes started on Monday 6 April after a trimester break. "Despite the challenges, the move online has been incredibly rewarding," says SAE campus director Dr Suzette Major. "Our staff are collectively doing what creatives do best - problem-solving."

The New Zealand Film Commission has extended its business support funding and, together with He Ara, can now offer up to $1million for up to 27 businesses. It has also confirmed development funding of $750,000 from ongoing programmes. The increased funding, through the BOOST scheme, is intended to encourage producers and screen businesses to explore business models and their ability to pivot and diversify into new areas to help build a more sustainable model enabling them to work under the different Alert levels of the COVID-19 landscape.
