VIDEO: Maggie Lee's Story

The simple act of swallowing must be re-learned for many people who've had a stroke. Maggie-Lee Huckabee (pictured above) and her team at the University of Canterbury Rose Centre for Stroke Recovery and Research are world-leaders in stroke rehabilitation, cough-reflex and swallowing disorders. Together they bring hope to people that 'everybody else has given up on'.

Braveheart Christchurch is a social media profile series telling the stories of inspiring people with brave hearts from Canterbury. It began two years ago, and is now up to it's 53rd episode. WIFT members Vanessa Wells (director) and Emma Smart (cinematographer and editor) have worked on the last 20 episodes together.
