Register now for the Doc Edge Forum

Posted Wednesday 13 May 2020

The 14th International Documentary Forum will be the first Australasian industry event to go online since Covid-19. Don't worry, the sessions have been specially planned so you're not staring at your screen all day (or all night if you're in Europe). Spend a few hours with some of the world's finest industry experts, including Tom Oyer from the Academy Awards and Thom Powers, Artistic Director of DOC NYC and documentary programmer for TIFF. In a time of extraordinary disruption, the Forum will focus on the positive: opportunities that the new normal creates, new and effective ways to engage with audiences, how to be together alone, and rapidly-emerging trends in distribution strategy as the world - and our own filmmaking place in it - move even further online. The Forum will also shine a light on issues facing the local documentary industry and some very rapid and creative responses to those.

When: Friday 29 May - Monday 1 June, 2020.

Jaspers' family film wins in 48Hours: Lockdown!

Posted Wednesday 13 May 2020

Celia Jaspers combined her editing skills, family and lockdown time recently and created the Best Family Film of the VF48Hours: Lockdown! She reports the win was "Quite a shock, but wonderful."
Celia had Canon 5D3 at home and a gimbal and because she's an editor she found that side of things fairly straightforward. "But directing your own kids, husband, cat, farm dog and 20-odd heifers was challenging to say the least!"

Way to go Jaspers family!
