A Matter of Fact(ual): join this online discussion with NZOA, platforms and filmmakers

Posted Wednesday 25 Nov 2020

Applications to NZ On Air's recently released Factual RFP for Pan-Asian Creatives open on Thursday 10 December 2020. In anticipation, PASC Executive Committee member Shuchi Kothari leads A Matter of Fact(ual), an online discussion with commissioners and funders about the RFP worth $2M of contestable funds, its objectives, and issues of collaboration, content and delivery.

Scheduled for Monday, 7 December at 6pm, filmmakers and prospective applicants will have the opportunity to hear first hand from NZ On Air and platforms such as TVNZ, Māori Television, RNZ, Re:News, Stuff and The Spinoff about the type of projects they're keen to support.

"This RFP represents the most significant opportunity for Pan-Asian factual storytellers thus far," said Shuchi Kothari. "We appreciate that the RFP builds capacity for Asian screen practitioners and broadens the meaning of 'Asian stories'. The focus is on robust and equitable collaborations that don't pigeonhole people's ambitions."

"We really encourage Pan-Asian creatives to take advantage of this opportunity. We are committed to seeing more authentic stories on screen that reflect the many different faces and perspectives of Aotearoa," said NZ On Air Chief Executive Cameron Harland.

The discussion is open to anyone and will be streamed live here on PASC's official Facebook page
