Development exec wanted for Vendetta

Posted Tuesday 27 Oct 2020

Film & TV production company Vendetta is looking for a contractor to work part-time for three months as Development Executive to assist with its growing slate of projects.

Here's what Vendetta have to say about the role:

We produce and exec produce feature films and documentaries (including Born To Dance, Pecking Order, Give Kate A Voice and In the Zone), and have a number of films and series in development. Our sister companies include Vendetta Films, a film distribution company which acquires movies from around the world to release across New Zealand and Australia, and GDE, a gaming and accessories distribution company.

We expect everyone who works with our company to be a great written and verbal communicator, to be proactive, positive, to take responsibility for their actions and to learn from their mistakes. We want team-players with a thirst for excellence and learning, who make other people's jobs easier when dealing with them. You're the perfect fit for this particular job if you have initiative, are ambitious, and are overflowing with ideas. You have great attention to detail, are organised, and won't let your creative side overwhelm the need to get stuff done, on time and to a high standard. You have a good grasp of the various funders and funding models across NZ and Australia, and hopefully also some international market knowledge and contacts. You love independent film and TV, and are interested the entertainment world in general.

Ideally you have 2 - 4 years' experience in the production world and may have your own projects which you're working to make happen (although we currently don't have capacity to add more to our own slate!). This role is part-time, flexible across two days per week, with some work from home opportunity. This job has a 3-month term but there is potential to extend it after that. If you love films and TV as much as we do, and you have a desire to work on the business side of this industry long term, we can't wait to meet you.

To apply, please email your CV and cover letter to jill@vendettafilms.co.nz, and make the subject of your email: Development Exec role.
