Report identifies innovations necessary for carbon zero productions by 2050

The BFI and BAFTA have produced a report that identifies innovations across five key areas to reduce carbon emissions in film production, with a view to zero emissions by 2050, according to Variety.com. The report identifies the areas of industry improvement are production materials, energy and water use, studio buildings and facilities, studio sites and locations and production planning, and recommends every day practices that will lead to reductions across these production sectors.

Move over feature films, it's time to spotlight the shorts! Show Me Shorts has released its 2020 programme and it's a cracker: 75 short films and three music videos. There are 11 collections of films and eight of those will play in cinemas across Aotearoa. And, for the first time, three collections of short films will be available exclusively online to New Zealanders for the duration of the festival (2-25 October).
