This accelerator event is designed to give fresh local talent the opportunity to share their voices and further their knowledge! The Piki Films whānau, which includes WIFT NZ members Morgan Waru, Nacoya Anderson and Carthew Neal, is offering its expertise, and some cash, to writers.
Shortlisted writers will take part in a weekend with Piki Films and creative experts from its network to hone their stories and their pitching skills. One winning project will receive $10,000 to develop their project to the next step.
Piki is looking for projects that are irreverent, have never been seen before, and have something to say about the world. Submissions from new or emerging writers will be prioritised, as will comedy-leaning projects.
To apply, writers need to submit a two-page treatment for an original feature or television series project.
Submissions will close at 11:59PM NZT on Sunday 22 August, 2021.
