Hosting and events support role with Film Otago Southland

Film Otago Southland is seeking to contract someone on a casual/as-needed basis to assist with regional Hosting and Events. It is expected that this role would require approximately five hours a month and would be for an initial term of six months, with the possibility to extend.

Film Otago Southland does not run a consistent annual schedule of visits/events, so the ideal candidate will be flexible with their availability and able to be called upon as needed with appropriate notification time.

Types of visits/events the role will be expected to help with include:

Industry workshops and forums.
Screenwriters in Residence programmes.
Industry decision-maker famils and visits.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Working under the direction of the Film Office Coordinators, the role would:
Via email and phone, act as point of contact/coordination for film-related visitors to the region, which may include: producers, writers, directors, location scouts, government representatives.
Book travel, accommodation, transport, activities and other logistics for visitors.
Source and book suitable venues for industry events and meetings of scale.
Create and manage itineraries.
Liaise with the local film industry to input into events/visits/programmes as necessary.
Where required, assist the Film Office Coordinators with on-the-ground hosting of visitors.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:

Have the ability to be flexible with their schedule and availability – ideally someone who works on a freelance basis and contracts out similar services to a number of different clients.
Be based in Otago-Southland and have a good knowledge of the area.
Ideally will have good contacts within the travel and accommodation industry.
Experience in a similar role, coordinating travel and accommodation or famil programmes.
Knowledge of the film industry or similar will be considered favourably.
