Got a great idea for a podcast? Tell RNZ!

Posted Tuesday 19 Jan 2021

Radio New Zealand has released a Request For Proposal (RFP) for story-driven, humorous or conversational podcasts with mass audience appeal.

Projects should be of a modest budget of up to approximately $50,000, and preference will be given to currently underserved and growth audiences, in particular Māori, Pasifika and rangatahi.

RNZ is open to pitches for podcasts of any genre or format but choose your ideas carefully as they will only accept (the first) two applications per Production/Company/Team/Producer.

The content will be made available on new and existing RNZ platforms including podcatchers. Visual and social media elements are encouraged, as is a brief social media plan.

If you have a great idea but are new to the pitching process then some guidelines are available - email

For all information on how to apply, and to receive the required cover sheet, email

Deadline for submissions: 4pm on 15 February, 2021.
