The quest for love is universal, which is why romcoms are always so popular! This WIFT International event explores cultural perspectives on love across the world's most influential film industries, from Asia to Africa, Europe to the Americas. Experts discuss the genre's classics as well as new opportunities for storytelling.

Hosted by WIFT Germany, in collaboration with WIFTI, WIF Sweden, WIFT Africa, WIFT India and the Forum of Women in Film & Television Nigeria.

WIFT Germany hosts an event at Berlinale each year, but because of Covid this year it had go online.

The 16th Doc Edge Festival has now confirmed the whens and wheres of its 2021 screenings in Auckland, Wellington, and nationwide online.

Carve these dates into your calendar - and keep an eye out for some early title announcements, ahead of the full programme reveal on 27 April.

The Festival includes High Tide Don't Hide by filmmakers and WIFT members Niva Kay and Nia Phipps, Emily McDowell and Phil Stebbings (The Rebel Film Collective) which weaves the stories of five teenagers inspired by Greta Thunberg as they rally against anxiety, climate denial, and white privilege to pull together a record-setting strike in Aotearoa
