Having missed out on this year's New Zealand International Film Festival (NZIFF) due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Aucklanders will be relishing the prospect of this opportunity to get some big screen time! The new festival, In The Shade, is exclusive to Academy Cinemas and The Hollywood in Avondale, and the line-up includes Fiona Clark: Unafraid, directed by WIFT NZ member Lula Cucchiara, plus films fresh from foreign festivals such as Cannes, Sundance and Toronto.
And remember, as a WIFT member, you can use your WIFT discount at the Academy!
The festival will kick off with Nightmare Alley on opening night, the latest film from Guillermo del Toro which stars Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara and Toni Collette.

- Apichatpong Weerasethakul's Memoria
- Michael Showalter's The Eyes of Tammy Faye
- Leos Carax's Annette

- Classic films Chopper (2000) and Purple Noon (1960).
