WIFTer joins Write Room as producer intern

Congratulations to Auckland producer and WIFT member Ruby Reihana-Wilson (pictured) who will join the Auckland Write Room 2021 programme’s mentor team as this year’s Producer Intern.

Auckland writer and actor Kalyani Nagarajan is the recipient of the 2021 Auckland Write Room Screenwriter’s Residency with her project Road Trip with the Rajans.

Producer intern Ruby (Ngā Puhi, Ngāti Hine, Ngai Tūteauru, they / them) co-produced the 2017 Loading Docs documentary Asian Men Talk About Sex. Since then they have  produced the NZ Television Awards-nominated web series Life Is Easy, New Zealand’s first bi-lingual  Chinese language series Inked 半的绊 for Prime TV, and they are currently in post-production with Elephant In The Bedroom, a podcast and doco series for RNZ.

Write Room is a screenwriter residency and producer training programme offered in Auckland and Wellington. This year Te Tumu Whakaata Taonga New Zealand Film Commission is also supporting the programme via  their Screen Sector Capability Fund, enabling it to extend to Auckland for the first time.

We're looking forward to seeing your work!
