Maxwell's Blue Lake premieres at Show Me Shorts

Congratulations to producer Maddy Maxwell whose short film Blue Lake premiered at the Show Me Shorts Festival in Wellington last week and was online as part of Weird and Wonderful. Blue Lake, which stars Chris Parker and his sister Olivia Parker, will also screen in Dunedin on 17 October and, says Maddy, at some point in Auckland!

Blue Lake is a Short Film Otago project, written and directed by Anya Tate Manning. It was shot in late May 2019, for around $12,000 in the former gold and coal mining town of St Bathans, in Central Otago. Jude Kavanagh, former owner of the town's famous Vulcan Hotel, agreed to be the film’s one and only extra.

Here’s the logline:

Monster-hunting youtube sensations Phil and Angie are on the road again, searching to uncover Otago’s supernatural secrets. An eerie trip to Blue Lake could finally get them on the cover of the Otago Daily Times, or maybe the obituaries.
