Let's hear it for Leila Murton Poole who beat more than 1800 entries in this competition, and is the first female to win the Challenge since, wait for it, 2006!
Leila's winning screenplays were titled The Engineer of Magic (Drama), The Ghostodians (Ghost Story) and the final round clincher, What Goes Up Must Come Down (Open category).

Leila is a writer/director, currently based in New Zealand having completed a diploma in Screen and Media at Sydney Film School in 2019. With a degree in Physics and Economics and a Masters in Management, she worked in finance before quitting to travel.
