WIFTer's doco investigates health of Auckland's Hauraki Gulf

Also streaming on Stuff is the seven-part documentary series Seasick: Saving The Hauraki Gulf, produced by Angela Hovey.

Initiated by the release of many bleak reports on the state of the gulf, the documentary investigates the history of fishing, commercial and recreational, fisheries management in general, the Quota Management System and the Gulf's marine reserves. Most people agree with the need for more marine protection, but there is conflict over what that should look like.

It seems apparent that not enough has been done fast enough. Time is running out to save the Hauraki Gulf.

Seasick will also be streaming on TVNZ's Re: platform, in June.
