Some light relief: WIFT members win funding for comedy

Local comedy is getting a boost in 2023, with six new and returning series receiving up to $5.8m funding in NZ On Air’s latest Scripted funding round. We were thrilled to see WIFT members involved in the projects awarded funding and we've listed you below with details of your projects.

Note: Projects intended for the new ANZPM (TVNZ and RNZ platforms) are funded up to end of June 2023.  

Great Southern Television receives up to $1,980,000 for Broken Backs and Mountains, for Prime and Whakaata Māori.

Kevin and Co receives up to $972,997 for New Zealand Today 4, for Three and ThreeNow; and up to $882,119 for Taskmaster 4 for TVNZ 2 and TVNZ +.
