Time is ticking on entries to Portugal's FEST – New Directors | New Films Festival. FEST will be accepting films up until 6 March 2022.
Programmers are looking for:
- 1st and 2nd Features Films(Fiction & Documentary)
- Short Fiction, Documentary, Animation and Experimental Non-Narrative films from directors up to the age of 35.
This 18th edition of FEST is focused on creating a space for up-and-coming filmmakers to show and promote their work, to develop their skills, offering new opportunities, and the chance to develop new audiences for independent cinema.
The selection is divided into several competitive sections, each with a different focus:
GOLDEN LYNX – Fiction and Documentary Feature Film Competition.
SILVER LYNX – Fiction, Documentary, Experimental and Animation Short Film Competition.
NEXXT – Academic Short Film Competition.
FESTinha – Feature and Short Film Competition for youth audiences.

The submission fees are:
- Regular Period - 6 Euros (Short Films)
- Regular Period - 10 Euros (Feature Films)
FEST 2022 will take place between 20-27 June 2022, in Espinho, Portugal.
