The latest recipients of NZ On Air Public Journalism funding

WIFT members are among those receiving funding for Public Interest Journalism from NZ On Air – one for regional video news and the other to introduce tamariki and rangatahi to journalism.

Cinco Cine Film Productions (Nicole Hoey), T2t Teina 2 Tuākana, receives up to $800,000 for a pilot development and content creation programme between Cinco Cine, 15 NZ schools, Whakaata Māori and the Pacific Media Network introducing tamariki and rangatahi to journalism as a viable career.

Meanwhile, Very Nice Productions (one of whom is Kay Ellmers), receives up to $604,520 for Local Focus 2022-2, regional video news for Bay of Plenty, Rotorua, Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Wairarapa and Whanganui, with accompanying articles.
