Catch some of Auckland’s finest piano-based musicians performing in this series of innovative and FREE twilight piano concerts, Illuminate Matariki!
Among them will be WIFT member, musician, entrepreneur and author Jan Hellreigel, playing at the Pah Homestead on Saturday 2 July at 7pm. Go along and support a fellow WIFT member at what promises to be a very special night.
Each Illuminate Matariki event harnesses digital technology which enables the notes of the piano to trigger a captivating light show unique to each song.
Each evening begins with a performance by Tereora – bringing waiata (songs) and kōrero about Te Whānau Marama (Family of Light), and the magic of Matariki/The Māori New Year. Tereora’s work focuses on themes of Maumahara (remembrance) and celebration in Aotearoa, into which the rising of the Matariki leads us.
“Mānawatia a Matariki – we welcome Matariki!”
