NZ On Air says it expects to receive many applications for this first funding round of the new financial year - don't disappoint them! There's plenty of time to prepare for the next deadline which is:
4pm, 21 July 2022 / Decisions: 21 September 2022.
For Factual: Targeted audiences including children's content; For Scripted: Targeted audiences including children's content.

- Factual – genres prioritised for this round include Documentary and General Factual applications (including Events). Approximately $10m has been allocated for content intended for general audiences.
- Scripted – applications for the Premier and Sustainable strands of the Scripted Roadmap will be considered. This round is open to Premiere Drama, Scripted Comedy and Unscripted Comedy (eg comedy/panel show) content genres. Approximately $20m has been allocated for content intended for general audiences. Sustainable Drama and Newer Storytellers applications will be considered in upcoming rounds.
- Development – both Content (including Diverse Development) and Industry development applications will be considered. Please see the Development Roadmap.
- Factual development applications will only be accepted for projects that require significant research and have co-funding from the supporting platform.
- Platforms - applications from platforms seeking annual operating expenses for the 2022/23 financial year will be considered in the April/July funding round.
- The Platforms funding stream is a closed fund for existing funded entities who deliver services to create and deliver audio/visual public media content. These entities are described here. Applications for new platforms will not be considered.
