Francis Baker’s music video has been selected for one of the world's biggest film and music festivals, the SXSW (South by Southwest) in Texas. Francis would like to attend the festival to make the most of the opportunities there but, as you can imagine, the cost of putting one person up in a hotel there isn't cheap - in fact Francis reports that it's more than the music video’s budget itself! Help him hit his stretch goal of $5k so he can recoup what he’s spent on flights and keep his savings for a rainy day.
It’s worth remembering that in NZ, you can claim back 33% of your donation in your annual tax return.
Here’s a little background about the video.
To celebrate Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori 2020, Francis Baker, along with friends and whānau, created an experimental music video / short film for the band Kiko and their waiata Ka Puta.
Fast forward 18 months, and the project has been accepted South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, where it will compete in the music video competition.
