Congratulations to the team of Rūrangi for its International Emmy Award Nominee for best shortform series!
Rūrangi's producer is WIFT member Craig Gainsborough, Renee Sheridan and Ramon Te Wake are in the cast, Melissa Nickerson is a co-producer, Kate McGill is casting director, Brough Johnson is an editor and Romy Hooper was the intimacy coordinator.
The nomination is for the first season of the series (2020), which wasn't released on TV until last year, therefore making it eligible for these Awards.
And there's more good news: the series is now in post-production with SKY on the second season!
Rūrangi follows transgender activist Caz Davis who returns to the remote, politically divided dairy community of Rūrangi after skipping town a decade ago, hoping to reconnect with his estranged father, who hasn’t heard from him since before Caz transitioned.
The Emmy Awards gala is in New York City, on November 21!
