WIFTers' doco to premiere at Tribeca Film Festival
Exciting times at at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival! According to Screen Daily, for the first time more than half of the Festival's competition selections have been directed by women. Some 19 films or 68% of the 28-strong competition line-up hail from women, and one of them is Zoe McIntosh whose feature film Stylebender will have its world premiere at the Festival in the Documentary Competition.
Produced by fellow WIFT member Leela Menon, Stylebender delves into into the world of Israel Adesanya, the Nigerian-born New-Zealand based MMA fighter. Director Zoe (The World In Your Window, Dark Tourist) will attend the film's premiere in June.
Stylebender is a FluroBlack production from filmmakers Fraser Brown (McLaren, Dawn Raid) Leela Menon (Dawn Raid, Mothers of the Revolution) and Tom Blackwell (The Subtle Art of Not Giving a #@%!) and will be distributed by Ahi in New Zealand and Australia.
