Directed by Briar March and produced by Leanne Pooley, the feature documentary More Than Gold has been selected for competition in the Festival International du Film Documentaire Océanien (FIFO) in Tahiti next month.
The feature-length film tells the extraordinary story of four-time Olympic shot put champion Dame Valerie Adams, a Kiwi icon, Tongan leader, a mother, a daughter, a sister and a survivor.

The film has been selected alongside several other films from Aotearoa including A Boy Called Piano which has WIFT members at the helm: director Nina Nawalowalo and producer Katherine Wyeth.
This 20th edition of FIFO runs from 4-12 February 2023.
