Whakaata Māori seeks proposals for content that supports the outcomes of Our Plan for Success, Te Huapae.
The target audiences are:
- Whānau raising children in te reo Māori (across all ages)
- Fluent speakers
- Active reo Māori learners
- Rangatahi (15-24 years)
The content priorities are:
- Factual and Unscripted Reality Series
- Tamariki Series
- Scripted Comedy and Drama Series
- Series that cater to the needs and preferences of fluent speakers
- The minimum expectation is 30% te reo Māori for all commissioned kaupapa.
- Whakaata Māori takes a digital-first approach to all content and will prioritise reo Māori kaupapa and projects where Whakaata Māori is the primary platform.
